Navigating Transitions & New Beginnings

Hi everyone,
December is here, Christmas is around the corner, and I just want to take a moment to share a personal update. I am truly in a full transition right now. Have you ever experienced a life transition that just makes you say, “Okay… when is this going to be over? When do I get to the finish line?” Because honestly—that’s where I am.
Transitions aren’t always easy. Sometimes they flow smoothly, but this particular season has been stretching me in all kinds of ways. So many things are shifting at once, and there are new things happening behind the scenes that I’ll be sharing soon.
One of the biggest changes is with my degree program. I was originally pursuing my LPC to become a licensed professional counselor. At the same time, I’ve been working with children within the autism population for a while, and I absolutely love it. I started that work as a way to gain experience alongside my degree—but somewhere along the way, I realized my heart was being pulled in a different direction.
So, I officially changed my degree path, and I am now studying to become a BCBA! I’m excited, I’m stretched, and honestly—I’m tired sometimes 😂—but it feels right. It feels aligned. I love this population, and I truly feel the kids love me back. I said, “You know what? This is where I’m meant to be,” and I just stepped into it.
Of course, I’m still a life coach, and I still plan to offer grief support in the ways God allows—whether that’s through writing, videos, emails, or classes in the future. One step at a time.
My prayer is to graduate in 2026—hopefully by October—but we’ll see what God does. I’m trusting the process and trying to embrace this journey, because it definitely is one. Unexpected, challenging, emotional at times… but also very, very purposeful.
So yes, your girl is transitioning! A lot. But I’m excited.
And let me just say—if you’ve ever experienced a transition that felt uncomfortable, exhausting, or like an uphill climb… please know you are not alone. I’m right there with you. I would love to hear if you’re going through something similar. Feel free to reply to this email or send a message to: MinninaSmith@ThatDoseOfEncouragement.com
As we move into this holiday season, I pray you experience peace, clarity, and a little joy right where you are. And remember—if you celebrate Christmas—Jesus is the reason for the season.
Before you go—what transitions have you experienced this year, or what transitions are you currently going through? I’d love to hear from you.
Wishing you a beautiful and blessed Christmas season,
Minnina
