Whew, Lord, Save Me From All of This

Updated: Nov 23

Have you ever been going through so much that the only thing you want is for the Lord to save you from it all? God doesn’t save you though—He doesn’t even answer. LOL, OMG, the audacity of the Lord! It’s maybe like when a speaker or comedian is talking into a mic, asking for a mic check, but there’s no response from the crowd. “Hello, God, are You listening to meeeee?” Picture this: juggling work, family, and life’s curveballs, and suddenly you find yourself praying, “Lord, if You just get me out of this mess, I promise to do more for You!” We’ve all been there—like when you’re stuck in traffic, late for a meeting, and you’re bargaining with God, saying, “I’ll go to church every Sunday if You just get me there on time!

It's interesting how our circumstances can drive us to those prayerful negotiations. Some of these situations are valid and truly call for a divine intervention. You might be facing a serious health issue or navigating a tough breakup. Those moments demand an immediate, “Come into my situation now, God!”

On the flip side, there are those not-so-serious situations where we might be making mountains out of molehills—like the time your favorite snack was sold out at the store, and you thought the world was ending. “Really, Lord? This is how it’s gonna be?”

Scripture reminds us that life will throw challenges our way. In Romans 5:3-5 (NIV), it says, “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” God allows us to go through tough times not to punish us, but to strengthen us. Those moments build character and deepen our faith, preparing us for our purpose.

So, what exactly is this purpose I often talk about? Purpose is the reason we exist, our God-given mission that aligns with His will. It’s about recognizing your calling—a unique path designed just for you. While calling often reflects our gifts and passions, purpose is more about how those gifts serve others and glorify God.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and unsure about your path, remember, you’re not alone. I offer Purpose Empowerment Coaching to help you embrace your calling and walk boldly in it. Together, we’ll navigate your journey, transforming those “Whew, Lord, save me!” moments into powerful steps toward your divine purpose.

Let’s connect and start this transformative journey today! God has a plan for you, and it’s time to step into it with confidence.
